Real Men Can Cook

What is Real Men Can Cook?

Real Men Can Cook

Real Men Can Cook is a one of a kind event that brings community leaders together to offer up a tasty evening of food, fun and fundraising.

Employees of the City of Waterloo in partnership with fellow employees of Waterloo Fire Rescue, are pleased to present its 5th annual event, this year in support of KW Counselling Services’ program such as STEAM (Skills & Tools for Emotions Awareness & Management). Once again this year’s event will be at St. George Banquet Hall, and we are inviting up to 80 would-be chefs — to prove once again that Real Men Can Cook!

Each chef prepares his tried and true recipe in quantities that allow taste testing over the dinner hour. As part of the event, recipes will be compiled in advance and a commemorative DVD will be available for those who attend the event.

Throughout the evening, there will be live entertainment, DJ music to dance the night away, live and silent auction items, and a cash bar guaranteeing an unforgettable night – all of this in support of KW Counselling Services’ STEAM Program.

Saturday, April 14th at the St. George Banquet Hall

How does it work?

Volunteer chefs from throughout the community have offered to give of their time and their culinary abilities to create their favourite dishes… an appetizer, soup, salad, entrée or scrumptious dessert.  Ticket holders then have the opportunity to taste test any of the 80 dishes prepared and to vote for the dish that best tempts their taste buds.

Awards will be presented to those offering the best serving in numerous areas including best entrée and soup or salad to name a few. Award selection is based upon input from up to our 400+ guests, professional chefs and celebrities sampling your very own recipe!
