Bell Let’s Talk 2019

posted by Scott Williams

Bell Let's Talk is a program by Bell Canada to promote mental health education, research, awareness, and end social stigma. Most people will have heard of Bell Let’s Talk Day which happens early each year. Bell will donate 5 cents to mental health initiatives for each of various kinds of interactions that day.

This year, Bell Let’s Talk Day is January 30th and here is how you can get involved:

Texting: For every text message sent by Bell Canada, Bell Aliant, and Bell MTS customers, Bell will donate 5 cents towards mental health initiatives

Phone Calls: For every mobile and long distance call made by Bell Canada, Bell Aliant, and Bell MTS customers, Bell will donate 5 cents towards mental health initiatives

Twitter: Each time you watch the Bell Let’s Talk video or tweet using #BellLetsTalk, Bell will donate 5 cents towards mental health initiatives

Instagram: Each time you watch the Bell Let’s Talk video, Bell will donate 5 cents towards mental health initiatives

Facebook: Each time you watch the Bell Let’s Talk video or use the Bell Let’s Talk Facebook frame, Bell will donate 5 cents towards mental health initiatives

Snapchat: Each time you watch the Bell Let’s Talk video or send a snap using the Bell Let’s Talk filter, Bell will donate 5 cents towards mental health initiatives

Why is this important?

All those 5 cent donations add up! KW Counselling Services has gratefully received grants from the Bell Let’s Talk Community Fund so the campaign DOES make a difference here in our community!

We are currently in receipt of a $20,000 grant to help fund our attachment and trauma counselling including our Trusting, Loving Connections group. There will be a public cheque presentation for this grant at the Kitchener Rangers game on January 18th!

Back in 2015, we received a $20,000 grant to allow us to develop the curriculum for Temper Taming Together!

So, on January 30th, please do participate in Bell Let’s Talk Day! Start some conversations, share your stories, and help to reduce stigma around mental health challenges. Visit https://letstalk.bell.ca/ for resources and tips!
