KW Counselling Services is grateful to have received $40,000 from the Government of Canada’s COVID-19 Emergency Community Support Fund through Employment & Social Development Canada and administered by United Way Waterloo Region Communities.
KW Counselling Services is grateful to be receiving a grant from the Government of Canada’s Emergency Community Support Fund and KW Community Foundation to help us provide additional counselling to LGBTQ2+ youth through our OK2BME program. During the pandemic, demand for these specialized services has risen dramatically as LGBTQ2+ youth are unable to access the community and school supports that they would usually rely on.
On June 18, 2020 we held the third of our three online panel discussions celebrating our 70th anniversary. Our panelists spoke about how we are in uncharted territory when it comes to mental wellness during a pandemic. Most of us have never lived through a situation like this, and many programs and systems were not designed to help with the unique stressors now facing us. Join our panelists as they discuss the Ways to Mental Wellbeing, and the challenges facing our mental health at this time.

On June 4, 2020 we held the second of three online panel discussions celebrating our 70th anniversary. Our panelists discussed how for most of us, sheltering at home means a safe and comfortable space, but for some members of our community, the challenges are very different.
On May 20, 2020, we held the first of three online panel discussions celebrating our 70th anniversary. CTV’s Rosie Del Campo moderated a panel of local experts as they discussed the challenges and opportunities that parents and families have during the pandemic.
