Meet Rebecca Webb!

posted by Scott Williams

On July 15, 2019, Rebecca Webb became the fourth Executive Director in the nearly 70-year history of KW Counselling Services.

Rebecca has 15 years of experience in strategic leadership in healthcare, most recently as Manager, Performance Quality and Design at the Waterloo-Wellington LHIN.  Rebecca has also served with the Canadian Mental Health Association, and the Waterloo Wellington CCAC. This work has allowed her to contribute to designing better experiences with the health system at the programmatic, community, and provincial level.

“I love what this organization represents in this community – our long history, our reputation for clinical excellence and as a top calibre training centre, and widely recognized flagship programming like OK2BME and the Walk In Counselling Clinic.”

Rebecca is passionate about collaboration, and the inherent power in amplifying the voice of the client when solving complex problems. Rebecca looks forward to learning from that client voice, and working with other leaders from across the human services landscape, and our dedicated and passionate staff, to move towards a community where no one is left behind.

“It’s exciting to see the importance of good mental health and inclusive, welcoming spaces spoken about in our community.  I know there is so much more work to do here.  Not everyone faces the same barriers to getting the support they need, which may be obvious like transportation or resources, but can also be insidious and systemic and very personal.  I love how mindful KW Counselling Services is about designing programming that is easy to access, safe, and recognizes the diverse needs in Waterloo Region.  It is absolutely embedded in our way of being, and I want to see that continue to evolve and inform leading practice locally, provincially, and nationally.”

Rebecca holds a degree in Anthropology, Mathematics and Statistics from McMaster University. She lives in Guelph with her three children.
