The Volunteer Factor

National Volunteer Week is April 7-13, 2019. This year’s theme for is “The Volunteer Factor”. According to Volunteer Canada, The Volunteer Factor celebrates and recognizes the exponential impact of volunteers and how they lift our communities. The image of the hot air balloons of different sizes, shapes and colours reflects the diversity of community volunteers. It illustrates that when people volunteer together, the sky is the limit, in terms of what they can achieve.

We would like to take a moment to thank the many volunteers who have helped to lift up KW Counselling Services in the last year. From our dedicated Board of Directors and Fundraising Events Committee, to the professional counsellors and intake workers who make our weekly Walk In Counselling Clinic possible – thank you! Without you, we could not offer as much as we do to the people of Waterloo Region.

We’d also like to recognize our Volunteer of the Year (2018-2019), Catherine Read-Wilson. Cathy is a Registered Psychotherapist and has been an important member of our Walk In Counselling Clinic team since January 2017. It is because of dedicated professionals like Cathy that we are able to make walk in counselling services available to so many people in our community. Cathy will be recognized at our 68th Annual General Meeting on May 21, 2019.

Thank you again to all those who make gifts of their time and talent as volunteers here at KW Counselling Services. You are helping us work towards our vision of a community where no one is left behind!
